I am planning to make Aliyah
If you are considering making Aliyah, you have a wonderful journey ahead of you.
How do I apply for Aliyah?
Congratulations on your decision to make Aliyah. Your first step is to contact the appropriate Aliyah organization, based upon where you are located.
They will open an Aliyah file for you and assign you an Aliyah adviser who will tell you what paperwork you will need to provide. They are there to answer all your questions about the Aliyah process and help you plan your life in Israel. Feel free to be honest and open with them. They will most likely have helped an LGBTQ+ person make Aliyah before, so if you are comfortable coming out to your adviser, please do so. As stated in our FAQs, your sexuality or gender identity will not negatively impact your Aliyah process, but if you have any LGBT-related questions that are not answered by your adviser, please contact us.
Checking eligibility
These organizations will be able to tell you if you are eligible to make Aliyah according to the Israeli Law of Return and will explain what documentation you will be expected to provide. If you were born in the former Soviet Union or certain eastern European countries, there may be additional documentation needed. More information here.
